Chitravel and Manimegalai, the gardener and the cook fetter out old recipes with the help of old members of their family and cook for the groups which come. Here is a Aloe Vera- Sambar made for a film-crew from Bombay doing a recce for a filming of classical music and dance.

Inspired by the presence of Bijayini Satapathy, one of the most impressive dancers of the world, and by the surfeit of fruits on the farm, Manimegalai, assisted by Chitravel bakes the first cake with the solar stove.
March - July 2021
Like elsewhere it is very quiet during the pandemic. Time for the animals and the plants to recover from the feverishness of human presence. Chitravel and Manimegalai maintain the space. Varun, an active director of BASE, visits the pace regularly, keeps in touch with the place and the workers.
The medical garden continues to grow and many people in the village come to Chitravel and collect herbs from the garden to make decoctions for their little health imbalances and to stay fit during the pandemic.
